Joel Schlessinger, Board-Certified Dermatologist and Cosmetic Surgeon Owner & Chief Scientific Officer

Dr. Joel Schlessinger is a board-certified dermatologist and general cosmetic surgeon in Omaha, Nebraska, treating a wide variety of skin conditions since 1992. He remains a full-time practicing dermatologist and researcher.

Along with his dermatology and cosmetic surgery practice, Dr. Schlessinger is also the founder of the Schlessinger MD Skin Research Center (formerly known as Advanced Skin Research Center), a clinical research facility that investigates new medications and treatments for a wide range of skin conditions and cosmetic procedures ranging from acne and psoriasis treatments to the latest advances in neurotoxins and dermal fillers.

Dr. Schlessinger is also the founder and CEO of LovelySkin, a premier skin care website serving over a million customers worldwide. LovelySkin offers professional-grade skin care formulas as well as spa- and salon-quality products. Additionally, the manufacturing and distribution arm of the family of businesses, Olive & Delmar, offers science-based, results-oriented skin care solutions to physicians, medical offices, spas and distributors around the globe. Dr. Schlessinger has always held a tremendous amount of personal and professional respect for Dr. Klein, the inventory of AFAs, and his work. As a result, he and his wife, O&D President Nancy Schlessinger, purchased the afa line in 2017 and brought it into the suite of professionally dispensed offerings from Olive & Delmar. The team has since worked to modernize the product formulations and continue to support the line’s development with on-going clinical trials.

Still practicing full-time, Dr. Schlessinger is board-certified by the American Board of Dermatology and formerly board-certified by the American Board of Pediatrics. He is also the past president of the Nebraska Dermatology Society, the President Emeritus of the American Society of Cosmetic Dermatology and Aesthetic Surgery and the founder of the Cosmetic Surgery Forum.
